PlayList of the Moment

So I haven't posted in awhile but I thought it would be a good time for an update! Here are some songs I've been listening to lately, tell me what you think and if you have any good recommendations I would love to hear them!

1. Alpha Rev: New Morning
I heard this song on the radio and thought it was a gem. I didn't know who Alpha Rev was at first and I actually thought the song was by Matt Kearney(esque?) but I kept hearing this song and eventually found out who it was. Full of optimism this song can't help but make me smile. I did find out when I was downloading this song that it was in that horrible Miley Cyrus movie, which just proves that you can find good movies anywhere- even in atrocities.

2. V.V. Brown: Shark in the Water
If you don't know, I love the revival of the 60's Motown kind of feel. V.V. Brown's peppy Shark in the Water is clear pop but if you listen closely you can just feel those influences. A fun song, you can't help but sing along to the big chorus. Even though it doesn't make sense. :)

3. Little Boots: Remedy
I was slightly weary of song at first, but Little Boots have proven to be a part of the new generation of Gaga esque electronic dipped pop, Remedy is a cool song you got to listen to. It will have you dancing in no time.

4. Mike Posner: Cooler Than Me
Who hasn't met a girl like this? That point aside, Mike Posner's Cooler Than Me is, well it's really cool. A combination of electronic/smooth R and B esque verses, this is just a cool. Count how many times I used the word cool in this little paragraph.:0

5. Leona Lewis: Cover of Run by Snow Patrol
Snow Patrol Final Straw album is my favorite from their repertoire. The best song on the album, the grandiose Run, a tragic 5 minute of pure heaven. Leona has a great voice and she brings another element to this great song and you def. have to check out her cover of this already amazing song.

6. Broken Bell: October
I remember hearing this song and thinking this guy sounded so much like the Shins. Of course it does, since it is a fun side project of the lead singer of The Shins and Danger Mouse. It's super Shin esque, filled with an interesting almost psychedelic vibe. I couldn't stop listening when I first heard and you should have a listen.

7. B.o.B Feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore: Airplanes
I think as weird as it sounds, I really like Hayley Williams. There is just something cool about her. B.o.B is blowing up the charts right now and I can see why, with great songs and like Nothing on You and the duet with Rivers Cuomo (=W=!!!) B.o.B sound is innovative and his duet with Hayley is just cool. She brings a very interesting element to the song and I can't wait to see more of what B.o.B has to offer.

8. Glee: Cover of Dream On by Aerosmith
Glee!!! So I love Glee but I usually don't put Glee songs on my playlist but I had to give credit the Joss Whedon directed ep that brought us the mind blowing duet between Matthew Morrison and Neil Patrick Harris. Dream On is an epic song in itself, but having those two blast it out was pure genius.

9. The Like: He isn't a Boy
Back to the 60's? The Like is a sassy all female band that def. came from another decade. The Like's He Isn't a Boy is just exactly what they represent, sarcastic, strong women who like that old time sound. What's better than that?

10. The Ordinary Boys: Lonely at the Top
Def. an older song that never really came to America but Lonely at the Top is pure genius. I remember listening to this song non-stop and while the Ordinary Boys aren't' making music anymore, I''ll always have this song.
